What We Do

History

Mitre Plastics was established in 1970, initially operating as a toolmaking company. By 1972 we had developed to a full injection moulding operation and we have progressively developed since. The company’s toolmaking heritage is still clear to see in the skills of the technical staff and the in-house toolroom which continues in a maintenance role to support the moulding activities and as a prototype and development facility. The company is still owned by one of its original founders; Neil Breckon with his son, Michael Breckon, responsible for the day to day management of the team.

Facilities

Operating from a 40,000 sq.ft. purpose-built site in Stockton-on-Tees, we have a wealth of toolmaking and moulding experience to call on to cater to a wide range of customer sectors. Working 24 hours per day, 30 injection moulding machines ranging from 25 to 1500 tonne clamp are overseen by a total staff of 100. Frequent investment in new plant gives us a favourable age profile within the industry.

Scope of work

Serving a broad range of industry including automotive, electronic and domestic products, components can be made across the range from 1gm to 6Kg from commodity and technical polymers.

Quality is of paramount importance to the organisation as it is with our customers. Mitre Plastics have actively pursued and achieved recognised standards of quality, initially being awarded BS5750 in 1992, ISO9002 in 1997, TS16949 in 2008, and converting to the latest IATF16949 standard in 2018.
